Hello Dear Readers!

We are four days into 2020. How are your new year goals coming along? How is your diet? How is your new gym membership? Did you run today? Have you had 8 glasses of water?

I hope your new year goals are going great. However, if you feel as if you have already failed this year, you have not.

A few days ago I wrote a blog post on how I will write 366 blog posts this year. I do not know if anyone remembers me making that commitment on here (hi, mom!), but I remember. Guess what?

I already failed.

Yesterday I did not write my post. How could I fail just three days into 2020! I wondered if I should continue writing. As I talked to my friend Claire, she reminded me that it is important that we actually live while accomplishing our goals.

She’s right! Although I did not get my post finished yesterday, I drank really good coffee. I saw Ed Harris in To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway with my mom. I cooked. I explored my city. I LIVED! I may not have done everything I wanted to do, but I learned more about life and being human than if everything was perfectly by my expectations.

Do not be discouraged if you fail. You are human. It’s inevitable. The important thing is that you learn and grow. Consider this your weekly reminder to live and grow and learn. Create a lifestyle of healthy choices and focus on the best.
